Mini-Course: How to measure nociception in animal models of chronic pain

  • The mini-course on nociception will be conducted by Ramiro Zepeda from Universidad de Talca, Chile and Louis-Erick Trudeau from University of Montreal, Canada
  • Date/Time: December 14th, 2019 / 9 – 12 and 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Local: LABOX, Departamento de Bioquímica, UFSC
  • Objectives: To understand the physiology and anatomy involved in the mechanisms of nociception, the mechanism of action of classic and newly developed analgesics, biomarkers of pain and pain management. Measurement of nociception in rodents, experimental designs, and statistical analysis. New analgesic modalities.
  • Registration: The registration for this course will be covered by the Organizing Committed (R$ 125,00). The course will be offered to 10 graduate students.
  • Selection criteria: Based on i) place of origin, ii) candidate’s academic record (the candidate’s academic record will be attested by school transcript, or by the quality of publications in scientific meetings and journals),  and iii) a letter of intend indicating the short terms goals after concluding the course.
